Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?

All payment and paperwork is done through SimplePractice. I will create a client profile for you once we have decided to work together! I accept all major credit cards or you are welcome to use your HSA card. Cards will be charged immediately after the session.

DO You accept insurance?

I am not in network with any insurance companies. No Strings Nutrition is a 100% cash-pay, out-of-network nutrition therapy practice. If your insurance offers out-of-network coverage for nutrition services, then you can be reimbursed directly from your insurance for the cost of payment. I am also able to provide you with a superbill on a monthly basis, if we have a medical diagnosis on file from your primary care physician, nurse practitioner, or psychiatrist. For more details and a script, please check out my page: Checking Your Insurance Benefits.

This blog post also does a great job of outlining the process: How to Check Your Out-of-Network Benefits

what is a clarity call?

I offer a free 15-minute clarity call so we can see if we’d be a good fit working together. I like to ask questions about what you are seeking help with and your goals for nutrition counseling. Then, with your permission, I will share a little bit about myself and my practice. It’s a great time to ask questions, get clarification, and get the ball rolling! Just so we are on the same page-a clarity call is not a nutrition appointment and will not include counseling of any kind.

what can I expect in nutrition therapy?

The first step is finding a dietitian who is a good fit for your needs. I offer a free clarity call for that reason! During the first few sessions, we will talk about the struggles that you are facing in your relationship with food and body image. We will then work together to help you achieve those goals. Sometimes things can seem worse before they get better. Letting go of unhelpful behaviors and trying new skills can intensify big feelings. It’s part of the process. Practicing openness and willingness to try new skills can make a big difference.
